Life on the Lake

The lake is at the heart of Canongate Village. Residents are welcome to fish from the shoreline or the dock and to paddle non-motorized boats such as kayaks and canoes. On any given day you might spot a red kayak gliding past, geese along the bank or a sunset reflecting through the pines.

Wildlife in Canongate Village

Our wooded lots and shoreline are home to plenty of wildlife. White-tailed deer are regular visitors, and spotted fawns are a familiar sight each summer as they explore the trees between homes.

Please slow down and watch for deer when driving through the neighborhood, especially around dawn and dusk.
